withdraw or not?

I'm going to SMC (santa monica city college) and this week is the last week that we can drop a class with a "W". I'm getting a high B in my English class because I turned in one paper late. Should I drop this class and retake it in the winter or keep the B and move on? I'm sure I can get an A if I retake the course. So my question is...

Is (W + A ) > B ? Please prove~ =P

B > (W + A)... because that A will be from your second try.

Hmm, this question is strange.

Not everyone is a 4.0 in college. If you get a few B's along the way, it happens. Typically, most people get more A's and A-'s which will act to smooth things out in the end; a few B's will never ruin your shot at anything; a B is respectable.

When you WITHDRAW from a class the result is a little more harsh. The withdrawal will be on your transcript (assuming that it is past the "free time" when they give you the opportunity to withdraw without the punishment of a "W"). This being said, if you have "W's" on your transcript you are going to look like a quitter; your employer will see your transcript, they do not exactly look highly on people who are withdrawing from things; rationally you can imagine they will think of you as someone who often doesn't accept a challenge and quits things early.

Good luck with your decision; don't let a B ruin your life.

AS.
