Withdraw or Retake?

Ok, so right now I am doing really horrible in MAC2311 even though I am taking Study Edge classes. The exams are just too hard for me and I feel like ill be lucky to scrap off a C. So should I withdraw this class or continue with it and retake it next semester? This is because I heard that if you take the class next semester your grade is replaced by the new and better one and your GPA doesn't suffer. GPA is a big issue for me since im pre med. So what do you think I should do? Is there a regulation that your GPA does not suffer if you retake the class and get a better grade? For example, if I get a C in Fall 11 and get a B in Spring 12. So the B will count and appear on my transcript and the C will disappear.

Check w your advisor about grade forgiveness. I’m not certain UF has it. Have you been to Tutoring Zone?

Nope. I have just been using Study Edge.

UF does not practice grade forgiveness.

If there’s any doubt you will pass, drop the class. Have you spoken to your teacher about where you stand right now? Because those classes are typically curved… so you may think you’re failing, but you really aren’t.

Also, UF does not practice grade forgiveness, and you aren’t allowed to retake a class if you get a C, anyways. You’d have to accept the grade and probably petition to retake it, and I don’t know if Bright Futures would even cover that, or regular financial aid…

PS - TutoringZone and StudyEdge are almost the same thing, except that StudyEdge took almost all of the tutors that had been working at TZ for the past however many years it had been open, and they opened up a new place right across from campus (StudyEdge).

I’m pretty sure the withdraw date was Monday the 21st, so you’re probably stuck with retaking.
