I was admitted (yay!) and put my deposit down last night. Do I have to withdraw my other applications now? I don't want to screw anything up for myself or future applicants from my school! Thanks

You do not have to withdraw… it is nice to notify them by May 1, you will probably have a postcard or something you can send in to your other schools. If you are planning to attend accepted student days, you might want to hang onto your post cards until after that… just to keep your options open as long as you can.

If you are planning on attending UChicago, then it’s courtesy to withdraw your application at other schools; this way, less students get waitlisted or rejected that needn’t.

I have withdrawn from a few schools that I know I simply won’t go with a UChicago offer in hand. As DanielHendrycks said, it’s nice courtesy and, for me as an int’l student in a perhaps more competitive pool than the domestics, this potentially leaves space for my fellow schoolmates and friends from the same area/country. I’ve kept a few applications that I think I might choose over UChicago (some with financial aid), and I talked with my counselor and parent before doing so. You may want to talk to your friends, parents, counselor etc. too?
