Should I withdraw with a W?
I’m considering dropping Microeconomics with a W. This is my first withdraw and semester at a California Community College.
I heard something about prereqs/IGETC?
I’m transferring for Economics will this W impact admissions?
I mean, did you apply for the Fall 2020 transfer admission? If you did, I would assume it would put you at a disadvantage since microeconomics is one of the major prep courses you need to take as an econ major in order to transfer for any of the UC schools. Or any school for that matter. If your ccc goes by the quarter system, you do have a chance to take it again this upcoming spring quarter (that being said if hypothetically you don’t withdraw again and don’t receive an unsatisfactory grade)—so, don’t worry if you do decide to take a W this winter quarter!
If you are applying for the Fall 2021 transfer admission, then I think you should be fine. Just take it over the summer or even fall (and if your ccc goes by the quarter system, spring 2020 quarter is also an option)
You should call and ask.
If I recall correctly they want all your requirements done by the spring before you transfer or you wont be considered for admission for their more impacted programs, such as Bus Econ and Econ.
The W will not be a factor since you said it’s your first semester.
