ok so yesterday i had to withdraw from my trigonometry course because it was a summer course and i took two courses over the summer and transportation was a problem for me which i missed days and ended up falling behind and it was hard to catch up so i withdrew from the class. will the withdraw on my transcript effect significantly on my admissions to UCLA? although trigonometry is a NON UC transferable course...... or can i just kiss and say bye bye to UCLA :(

my GPA right now is 3.55
major is sociology
TAP in progress will finish before spring
Igetc in progress will finish before spring
pre reqs done

youve been holding out on me socal4! lol ive been asking if there were any other soc majors trying to go to ucla! lol but seriously…i dont think the w is hurting you all that bad & youre gonna be doing tap so yeah i think youll be fine…youre a fall2010 transfer?

W’s do not matter, but your GPA is a bit low for a Sociology major even with TAP for UCLA so I’d try to bring it up with your classes this coming fall.

yes I’m transferring this fall 2010! and Njoy also what are you planning on doing after you get your degree in sociology?.. is sociology an impacted major? iill probably have my gpa at a 3.6 this fall because every semester i always end up with at least one B

sadly, sociology is impacted. lol i was planning on getting my doctorate and just becoming a soc professor because i really dont have a problem with that. but i might look into law school and see what i can do with that. what are you planning on doing? and also, did you take the class that is equivalent to the soc 20 on the pre-req list?

why take trig as a soc major? as you noted it’s not even UC transferable, and you would really only take it if you eventually want to take the calc series. if you just take statistics you can wipe out your math requirement with one class, as opposed to having to take both trig and then precalc.

actually they do not offer soc 20 at my college i just complete what they have…im probably gonna apply to med school or pharmacy school after…i took trig because im going to take calculus and i need to take trig.

yeah i’m skipping pre calc to go straight into calc 1… and for TAP i think its different for other community college because i know some community colleges require you to finish tap before the fall but some school are spring atleast thats what i heard…idk i maybe wrong please correct me if im wrong lol
