If I take a leave of absence from my four year university and continue school at a community college halfway through the term, can I still receive financial aid at the CC?
I will have completed Fall 2017 quarter, will take a leave of absence from the university and begin Spring semester at a CC. Since I will only be enrolled in one school can I receive financial aid?
I guess what matters is that it is in between terms and one is quarter terms and the other Semster.
If anyone has any information please help. Thank you.
You have to be a regular, degree-seeking student to receive aid. If you enroll in that manner, rather than as a guest student, you will be eligible. Your annual limits for Pell & loans don’t restart … what you have received for fall will be taken into consideration at the new school. Loans are based on year in school, so your annual limit at the CC will be based on your academic standing (year in school) at the CC.
If you take a leave of absence you probably will not be allowed to enroll anywhere else or even take classes elsewhere. Check with your university first.
