I recently had an interview with an alum at one of my EA schools and, although it went well, I definitely came to the understanding that the school isn’t for me.
I believe it would be best for everyone involved if I withdrew the application, although I would feel bad wasting so many peoples time (Rec Letters and Transcript requests are already sent and I’m sure that my alum will have finished their letter by now) Even if I were accepted to this school, I doubt I would ever attend. What should I do?
This happens all the time. You simply email/call the school and tell them you’re withdrawing your application and you no longer wish to be considered. It’s business and no one’s feelings are going to be hurt.
You’re right – it’s polite not to waste people’s time.
Agree with above.
