Withdrawing an Application

Hey,

I just mailed an application to a University Scholarship Program. Unfortunately, I made a mistake on one of the application's components. However, the application deadline hasn't come yet.

Would it look bad if I tell the University to withdraw the old application, so that I can submit a new one?

I would call them right away. Don't wait!!

Using my s’s Mac, I uploaded his essay to restrictive early application, and loaded a version with errors (2-3). Can this application be withdrawn completely and a corrected replication be submitted for regular admission?

S

Do you really need to withdraw the entire application? I’m pretty sure if you send an email with the new essay attached, they won’t hold it against you. It’s not like you’re trying to submit new SAT scores on the day that school starts, right? :D

Thank you for the reply,Gardna, but I think they are pretty strict about this. S can not go back into Common App and make the change, so it’s a more difficult situation. The school’s website says the app can be withdrawn, if for instance, the student decides to apply somewhere else early action. But what it seems to say is that the same application will simply be rolled into regular admission cycle. The essays are very important to this school, so my s wants to pull it and submit a replication from the Common App site that allows you to change the essays.
