Withdrawing an ED App before a decision is made?

I recently submitted an application under the Early Decision plan for a certain college, but now I feel I may want to take my chances with other colleges in the regular decision pool. Is it possible for me to withdraw my ED application now, seeing as it has been less than a week since the November 1st deadline passed and no decision (obviously) has been made?

EDIT: I submitted using the common app, if the choice of forums didn't already give that away.

Yes, just call the school and ask them to move your app to the RD group.

In addition to the call (which you should make right away), you should follow up with something in writing either by email or mail to confirm. It doesn’t sound like you are going to apply ED somewhere else, but just in case I’ll mention this. The common app will not let you apply ED to another school because it will not be aware of the withdrawal. So, if you are intending to apply ED somewhere else after withdrawing this one, you’ll need to do that by mail.
