Withdrawing Application

Is it necessary to formally withdraw my son's application - or does not paying the deposit by May 1 suffice? (I've searched on the MSU website and haven't been able to find a link to withdraw application.)

if you don’t pay the deposit you are essentially saying that you are not going there and forfeit your admission. You can shoot them an email if you want, but it really isn’t necessary

WDave0,
As a common courtesy, its probably nice give the admissions office and give them a heads up. Honestly, it will take two minutes of your time, and would open up your son’s spot to one more person who would be thrilled to have it. Congrats to your son on whatever fantastic school that he has been accepted to (it must be great if he’s choosing it over msu).
