Withdrawing application?

If one finds out that a certain college is a bad fit* AFTER one applies, does one withdraw one's application or "wait it out"?

I mean a catastrophically bad fit - 0% chance of attending, even with a full ride scholarship.

If you don’t withdraw your application, then you take the spot of someone else who might have been accepted in your place. Do you really want to do that when there’s no chance you’ll attend?

^Oh geez, I hadn’t thought of that! Thank you!

What made you change you mind? I mean obviously you must have liked it at some point to apply…

^ Well, I have special needs, and I didn’t call the schools to ask about services until AFTER I applied (stupid, I know).

The two schools that I’m talking about have lots of the things I want (small size, great academics, liberal-leaning student bodies, etc.), but few of the things I need (mental health services, tape recorders for lectures, housing accommodations). If I went to one of these schools, I would probably flunk out due to lack of assistance.
