Withdrawing applications?

So I applied to Stanford SCEA. After submitting my Stanford app, I submitted my Common App to a few more match/safety schools in November/early December. I was accepted to Stanford yesterday, so now I don't see the need to send the supplements to the other schools I've applied to. Should I go ahead and call them asking them to withdraw my application? Or should I simply miss their deadlines on purpose so that they won't consider my application?

Honestly, I'm kind of afraid I'll be asked why I'm withdrawing and have to explain myself to the admissions officers.

You can inform them via email.

If I email them, will there be any confirmation that they withdrew my app?

Also, I believe Duke will be requesting an interview from me soon. Do I turn it down?

First, congrats on Stanford. Second, no one is going to have hurt feelings that you’re withdrawing the app. Frankly, it allows them to allow another kid that they love but would have had to turn down. Just state plainly and you’ll be fine.

Yes, thank the Duke interviewer but that you’re going to withdraw your app. There’s nothing to be concerned about – just do the courteous thing and let the other schools know your decision.

You can go ahead and withdraw. None of my schools minded when I did that; in fact, the two that responded were thankful that I notified them instead of leaving them hanging. However, I did not receive notification from two schools. That reminds me - I should email them again this week.

About withdrawing - do you have to formally withdraw from schools that you’ve sent common app / supplements to? Or from any school that has received test scores, transcripts, etc? Because I think all my RD schools have received parts of my application, but none have received all (also, i refused to pay until i found out my ea school, lol)
