I'm a first-semester freshman attending community college, hoping transfer to Smith after 2 years, but I'm already having a dilemma. I have a Drawing course that I'm getting C+s in, again and again. I have another month or so to withdraw, and it's about a month into the course. Just to you know, I've been trying VERY hard in the course. Also, I took AP Drawing in high school, and got As/A-s on my artwork (although I only got a 2 on the exam, but I think formatting issues prevented me from getting higher). In the class, there are about 13 students, and of those students, only two have artistic talent (me being one of the two). I'm pretty sure most everyone else is getting C/C-s. The point is, the professor is FAR too harsh. A talented student putting effort into her art should NOT be getting a C+. Now, I don't think I'm AMAZING, but worthy of AT LEAST a B+/A-.

Should I withdraw? It's only my first semester, but I don't think I'll do this often. Also, I have 6 classes, and I'd be more than willing to take it again, with a professor that grades more fairly. I'm on the General Studies track, looking to do an art/computer science Interdisciplinary studies, but if I have to decide to choose between the two, it's be Computer Science. How will withdrawing affect me compared to getting a low B/high C? Sorry that this was lengthy (and for my improper use of parentheses) but I'm just going CRAZY right now. Thanks!
