withdrawing from an upper division class :/

I'm a senior majoring in history. I'm currently taking an upper division class for my major and I'm not doing very well in it, so I'm considering taking a W. Basically, in order to graduate I need 7 upper division classes in history. These seven classes aren't specific, but rather they just have to be 300-level courses. I won't be able to retake the same class next quarter, but I can take another upper division class to fill the void.

I already have 3 W's on my transcript from my freshman and sophomore years at my previous school. I'd really like to go on to grad school after a year or two of working, but I don't want this to hinder my chances. Although at this point, it looks like I'd probably get a C in the course. Maybe a B-. Neither of those options really appeal to me.

I think a C or B- looks better than a W. Sometimes you can appeal to a dean for a late drop instead of a W. I think schools will be more forgiving of a W freshmen year.
