Withdrawing my UMD application

Hi College Confidential,

I was accepted ED to another school, and part of the contract is that I withdraw all other applications. However, Maryland has not responded to any of my email requests to withdraw my application from further consideration.

The problem is, that’s obviously not a good situation for me to be in, especially if my ED school finds out and thinks I had ill intentions. Right now, I think I have 2 options: 1) Wait until decisions come out (which is in like 5 days) and immediately withdraw from further consideration, or 2) Call the admissions office and ask for my application to be withdrawn. Is there a way to withdraw my application through Coalition? That would work too. Right now, I’m thinking Option 2 is more fitting.

Any help would be appreciated! (Also, move this to the proper subforum if this isn’t the right one  )

Thank you!

Call this morning. And ask for official confirmation that it has been withdrawn. Get the name of person you speak to.

The same thing with my son. You have proof that you emailed them. It’s on them now not you. You’re fine.

It is not an issue. In the unlikely event it comes up you have an email to show that you withdrew. It isn’t your fault if it doesn’t get processed by the college.

FWIW my nephew got into college ED, emailed his other colleges to withdraw and still got an admission decision from a school he withdrew from. He just immediately turned down the offer and it was no problem.
