I am going to describe this as well as possible without being too personal.

Basically, I am attending a small 4-year college in Florida and plan on transferring into a larger university, either in FL or NC, after I get my AA. I am enrolled in Microbiology, Physics 1, Chemistry qualitative Analysis 1 (12 credit hours) which are all important to my major. All 3 have labs. I am doing well in all of my classes right now, but I am withdrawing from all of them because my father was involved in a very serious accident and is in critical condition in NC.
So, I talked to the dean and I will be able to receive credit for all classes so that I will be able to retake them in Spring, however I have to take a W in all of these classes. I know that some universities ask for reasons of withdrawal when you apply. But I've also been told that a W may be considered a F and combined with the next grade I get in the class to get the actual grade for class. About to talk to an advisor, but can anyone help me with what they know about the situation?
Thank you!
