How do these generally weigh in college admissions? I know some schools weigh them in the GPA and others don't, but how do adcoms view them?

I've dropped 3 out of four classes in 03-04, but that was before I took school seriously. In Fall 04, I dropped Prehistoric-Gothic art history class (because I decided to change my major and hated the class), and I'm considering dropping my Writing Comp II class.

Here's my schedule since Fall 04:

Writing Comp I - A
Elementary Algebra - A
Intro to Geology lecture - A
Intro to Geology lab - A
Computer literacy - A
Retarded art class - withdrawn

Winter 05:

Writing Comp II - Not sure, but want to drop
Intermediate Algebra - A
Life science (Bio) - A-
Intro to Macroeconomics - A- or B+

I'm applying to Michigan State University (Michigan resident), and I know I'll get straight A's again this semester, and plan to take summer courses to get more prereqs out of the way. But I'm not sure if I'll ace that damn writing class, so I'd rather not see my GPA falter because I don't have time for my writing class (I work full time and have not much of a social life). By the summer's end I'll have at least 26 transferable credits for MSU so they won't look at my high school record (**** poor, but I got a 25 on my ACT). What I'm worried about is transferring out to, hopefully, University of Michigan, or possible USC.

What say you good people?
