in the beginning of the year, i withdrew from a math class because i initially signed up for it in the beginning of the summer thinking i would be doing a summer program. on my report card, it still lists the course name is a big W for withdrawing. i am in another math class with an A+ average, but i was just wondering if this effects your rank in class at all? like do they average the credits you were attempting into your rank? i am really confused...and is it a problem to colleges that you withdrew from a class? thanks.

no, it shouldn't matter. and i am pretty sure that it won't affect your class rank at all. but you will have to ask your counselor to be sure.

thanks. i hope to god you are right. i have all A's for semester averages and a big W! i'm going to ask tomorrow if this is a problem.

Withdrawing usually only has a bad effect if you withdrew failing, which is usually shown with a WF, so I think you should be fine

no it's just a regular W, i wasn't failing i had a c-. in my new course which is a level lower, they scaled me grade to a b- and then i pulled off an a+ by the end of the semester. i'm talking to my guidance counselor tomorrow.
