You don't send AP scores for your application at all. You self-report them on your application. You send the scores only to the school you're going to attend, after you've gotten all your senior AP scores as well as your earlier ones.

Oh really? Then how can the colleges be sure that you are honest in your self-reporting? I am self studying around 5 next year and would the colleges "trust" what I self report?

There is no reporting of "self-study" per se. You report the results of the exams, and your class grades. You can put the self-study information in your list of ECs, or in the Additional Info section of the application, just as you would any other time-consuming activity you want them to know about. You still don't have to send in your AP test scores in any official form.

If you're a rising senior now, and will self-study the 5 subjects for the May test, these scores won't help you; admissions decisions will already be out. If you're a rising junior now, you self-report your AP scores. If you don't do well on one, you don't report it.

Unless there is an aggregious discrepancy between your self-report and your scores (e.g. you reported a 5 but really got a 2), you'll be fine.

Okay I see! The reason I am worried is that I am not taking the AP courses in school, but I'll let the colleges know in the app. that I am self studying them. Thanks a lot for your help Chedva.
