Barker to Birge
Birge to Tolman

Barker to Birge is going to be a problem, I think. That's uphill and that's far. Birge to Tolman is slightly shorter, I guess, and should be mostly downhill. I think a lot of people can't make it from Barker to Birge in 10 minutes.

I was just wondering; is the Berkeley main campus bigger than UCLA and UCSD's campuses?

Absolutely not. UCSD campus isn't even feasibly walkable (around half an hour to cross the campus) and UCLA's campus is bigger as well, though not as big as UCSD's, I don't think. The 27 square kilometer number for the UC Berkeley campus is including LBL. The main campus itself is pretty small.

...because it includes LBL...which is exactly what I wrote like 10 minutes ago...

Lol, sorry. What's LBL?

Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. It's literally connected to campus, on top of the hill. I'm not really sure about the technicality of it all, but it's somehow owned by the US Dept of Energy AND the University of California. Hmmm.

At any rate, there are several of these national laboratories around the country that are owned and operated by UC: Lawrence Berkeley, Lawrence Livermore, Los Alamos, and a couple of observatories.

So when you look at the map, main campus itself ends at Gayley Road as the east border. All that other land to the east of it is LBL.
