I'll be transferring after my sophomore year,~which is now but I think I may be taking a year off for some experience.

I would tentatively use first semester to learn French and get EMT certified, and second semester I would work with a doctor who is my dad's colleague in the central African republic. This would mean six months in a medical compound, assisting with surgeries, going into villages for on site health care, dealing with TB, teaching english, learning "Kongo",..(evacuating when rebels come). It should be a mind blowing experience, with the ability to give me a little more purpose.

After this year I want to push the boundaries and get into a solid school transferring from the University of Northern Iowa to finish my education.

I'm a med-school track biochemistry major, 63 credits taken with a 4.0 college gpa. (high school mediocre 27 act/3.5gpa)

Hook: would be fluency in German, having lived in Austria and attended a public school for five years of my life. Going on a missions trip to Austria this summer to teach English at an English camp. Also I may be trilingual after I make the six month trip to Africa.

Extracurriculars: high school-varsity swimming, soccer, year of tennis, two years of cross country, auditioned quoir, musical, band, marching band, piano, some other randoms
College-german club, leading bible studies, hall senate, undergraduate immunohistochemistry research, some tutoring, intermurials, church groups along with some other stuff that doesn't come to mind.

So, looking for schools within my range - safety schools and some stretches
I would prefer a school that has well rounded strengths, but primarily my best bet for med-school admissions
also, I'm curious to know of any Ivy's i may have a shot at.

so far I'm looking at Boston College the most seriously primarily because of a philosophy professor I like.

(thanks)
