Congrats to all of you that got accepted!
aggie :frowning: are you gonna appeal?
And I’m still for UCSD and UCI. Ridiculous.

Oh, caltouci, I’m definitely going to appeal. I already talked to the people who articulated my coursework and they agreed that I should appeal. I was surprised that I got rejected…I don’t know why.

Man…hopefully you’ll hear about UCSD and UCI by tomorrow!

Congrats to those who inter-UC transferred!

I’m bumping this to ask if you guys submitted any UC Reciprocity documentation with your November application.

nope. i’m sending mine in after this quarter bc i’m currently finishing my last two GEs.

I didn’t either. I’m pretty sure you send it after you’ve been admitted.

From UCSC
To UCSD or UCSB, probably UCSD
GPA: 3.34
Communications

so what do we do next exactly. Do we accept the sir, then officially withdraw from our current UC after we receive spring quarter grades? Or do we just not enroll in fall classes?

UCSC->Cal
3.96 GPA, College of L&S

I am quite pleased with myself. I find that the harder I work, the luckier I get as Jefferson would say.

I went to the Registrar office, and they have a form that you fill out, canceling registration for fall 2009. i will probably send that in once i so receive spring grades.

Accepted

UCSD to UCLA
Chem major, transferring to be a second year student in the Fall
3.2 GPA

Completing last GE’s over the summer at UCSD, will get UC reciprocity.
still need about half of prereq’s for major.

Since my essay was about transferring to UCLA to be closer to my family, I have a feeling that they really considered my essay more than my GPA. Plus, they only had one quarter’s grades to go on.

when people say “complete all GE’s” do they mean the GE of the college they wnt to transfer to or the college they attend before transferring?

If it’s UC-UC intercampus transfer, they mean the college they are currently attending (ie they one they are transferring out of).

i see, but then do you need to complete your college’s GEs? cause I thought it doesn’t matter as long as you complete your major prereqs of the college you’re trying to transfer too?

Also does it give you an advantage if you complete the GEs of the college you’re trying to transfer to along with your major prereqs?

It would be in your best interest if you completed your college’s GEs (complete your UC Reciprocity). Technically you don’t have to complete your GEs before you transfer, but it looks better if they are done AND its much less confusing. Different schools have different GE requirements, so the articulation for completing your GEs will be difficult.

For example, let’s say you are attending UCSB and you want to get into UCLA. You might only be 1-2 courses short of completing your GEs are SB, but you might be 4-5 courses short of completing your LA GEs because the requirements might completely differ. Also in the case that you don’t get accepted, you would have taken all these courses for LA for nothing (might even have to delay expected graduation). Basically all intercampus students are HIGHLY recommended to finish their school’s GEs because then they will be exempt.

To get the best advantage, you will want to finish your own school’s GEs and the major pre reqs for the school you are trying to transfer to. If you don’t finish the major pre reqs for the school you want to transfer to, your chances go WAY down. Check assist.org to see what pre reqs you need to do and if you can take them at your own school (ie use a community college as a middle man)
