ok, so i just called the um undergraduate admissions office and asked when i'd be likely to hear a decision by... and they said that i'd hear either by the end of this week or the beginning of next week. but... nothing has yet to be posted on wolverine access!! do they post rejections on wolverine access or do they only notify you online if you were accepted?

I spoke to admissions this morning and they told me that my son's descion was mailed on Friday. Nothing has been posted on WA and nothing in today's mail. This waiting is rough.

Same. Adcom said my decision was mailed on Monday. Nothing in WA. So far from the forums, it's a not-accepted decision. Really really disappointed. Umich such a awesome University.

I'm pretty sure all deferrals, rejections, waitlists are not posted on WA, but are sent via snailmail. Acceptances are posted on WA.

Same problem...

I live about 25 minutes away from Ann Arbor. I took a trip there today and visited the undergraduate admissions office and the lady I spoke to told me that a decision was made yesterday regarding my application. I have yet to see anything on WA, however. When I inquired about why nothing has been posted yet (I checked it yesterday night) she told me that since the system is new this year they've been running into problems and have been sending out all of their decisions recently (hmm...don't they send them all out anyway?). I don't know, but I don't think I can take the wait any longer...

if it is posted on WA, where is it posted? under application status?

Ya...I guess another link is created saying "View Decision" next to the "View Credentials" link.

O yea...i'm deferred. damnit.

naff did you find that out through snail mail or through WA?

i was accepted and recieved an email telling me to log onto wolverine access for "my admissions decision". i haven't heard anything personally about only acceptance decisions being posted online; michigan should give you a heads up though with an email.

how can they still be deferring people??? how many deferrees (is that a word) are there, I wonder.

My son's letter came today. We are waiting for him to come home from school to open it. Nothing has been posted on WA yet.

The size of the envelope will give you a good hint. It's probably a deferral/rejection if there's nothing posted and the envelope is a normal commercial envelope.

I havent heard a word from Umich.

Let's add another 4 weeks to the wait. It is amazing that it took Wisc-Mad 9 days to accept him and almost 4 month with Umich and he was defered another 4 weeks.

at least you have heard something. Granted I did apply in late january, I still havent recieved a word from anyone at the school. Probably means a rejection is coming.

Honestly, I think Umich has one f the worst admission processes. It takes to long and they just deffer everyone. They don't do a great job on aid either. My friend has a 14,000 EFC and they want him to pay 30,000 a year. He can't do that therefore he isn't going to Michigan. I have noticed I know of a good amount of people that got into michigan and then end up not going. Maybe thats why they deffer so many so they have people to fill in slots. whatever, another 4 weeks it si

I just wish they could get the whole thing done by APril 1 - it just muddies the waters. DS has some acceptances in hand and will have more decisions (I'm sure some positive and some negative) by April 1 - we need to make a decision! At this point I wish they had just rejected him, to be honest.

I agree Spikemom. My son has some in hand, but Umich is his first choice.
I guess Umich is waiting on some of the other top tier schools to announce their acceptance on Apr 1 . Possbibly some of those rejections from other schools who haved used Umich as a safety school limited the amount of deferrels tat will be accepted

i don't understand michigan's system either; i have a friend who applied in early november with way better stats than me and has heard absolutely nothing yet whereas i applied in very late janurary and was accepted a week ago. i know michigan also keeps some acceptances after the april 1st deadline to see if any kids get into their 1st choice/reach schools and in turn notifies michigan that they won't be attending.
