Im going to be applying next month and I really want to know my Michigan ID now... but friends tell me they got theirs from the "junk" mail they got the ID from U of M ann arbor. I only got stuff from flint and dearborn campuses. So will I finally get my ID after I hit submit from my Common App? If so, what if I wanted to send in my AP scores and ACT stuff??? Will they file everything correctly????

Sooo Confused :(

btw should I send in my AP scores yet??? I feel as though I might need them to "show off" to U of M that Im not a failure at life :/

If you’re talking about the MCard, you don’t get it till you’ve been accepted. And if you’re talking about the login ID for Wolverine Access, I’m pretty sure you also won’t get it till you’ve been accepted.

I was talking about the wolverine access… i thought you needed it for easier organization of your application stuff… I know for a fact that its not given when you’re accepted, but before that.

i applied to michigan on the feb 1 and things still turned out fine.
Just get your essays and recs ready, and stop worrying about these things that wont really matter…

I believe ACT/SAT scores are matched using birthdates+name(?).
Unless your name is super common, don’t worry about it

I had the same problem. If you call the admissions office they will give you the U of M
ID number that they used for any mailings that they sent to you. If they have not
assigned one, they will give you a UM ID number. I think it really helps to have the ID
number on your application and any attachments in the common application.
