women at MIT

To all the MIT ladies-- Do you feel comfortable at MIT? I know that women at MIT are equally good academically, but how is the BoyScope or the support? I know that MIT is much more balanced in terms of gender than most other big science schools, but can you really tell. And how true is "the odds are good but the goods are odd" exactly? Thankya.

I've absolutely never felt unsupported as a female student. There are lots of events held for female students -- mostly of the "have some cake and talk" variety. I've never gone, but I guess that's mostly because I've never felt that I've experienced discrimination or anything like that.

There are almost as many females here now as males, so you don't notice a gender disparity walking around campus. Some majors are heavy on one gender or the other... I guess if you're a female mechE, you might notice a disparity. As a female biology major, sometimes I wish there were fewer girls around here. :-P

Many of the goods are odd, but that's true of both genders... at any rate, you can certainly find plenty of normal-to-good-looking guys.

yaay thanks
