Women Engineers

Would wanting to pursue engineering as a major help in the admissions process if i am female? I really want to major in Chemical Engineering and i know that women are in high demand in the job market for engineers. Would this help me have a better chance at colleges?

I dont have any stats yet really so this is just a generalization

Thanks yall!

It’s possible!! Many schools want a similar number of boys as girls, so the odds could be in your favor. Also, there are corporate scholarships for women, as well as some for the Society of women engineer.

Women Engineers? Isnt that an oxymoron?

jk!

It is possible for some schools that want an increase in diversity

Thanks for your input yall!

I’m not sure if it will have immense effect in terms of helping your application, but I’m sure it will affect it in a positive way.

Chance me please? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1457610-chance-me-i-will-chance-back.html

Being a female helps a lot. If I remember correctly, the ED acceptance rate for Cornell Engineering was 16% for males and 37% for females.
