Wondering about majors offered.

I was looking at the majors that are offered at University of Chicago earlier and noticed that there wasn't an immediate major for undergraduates. If I'm not mistaken you have to wait a year before you can become a part of the program there. I am hoping to major in something that is comprised of both business and engineering aspects, but I'm not sure if there is anything in the university that would fall under this category. Any help from current or former students as far as a business major for an undergraduate? And, if so are there different divisions of business to go in to, or is it just business in general? Thanks!

There is no engineering or business major at the school for the near future, but I’m sure the math, physics, economic and possibly even computer science courses would be fine as a substitute. There is a Chicago Careers in Business program or something to that effect though.

OP, Chicago offers neither Business nor Engineering programs. You need to look elsewhere for colleges[ and there are many] with those types of pre-professional interests/ majors. The majors at Chicago are more academically geared, and their overall Core program is designed to offer a broad based Liberal Arts education which prepares grads for graduate school programs.

Also, you don’t have to wait a year to declare a major/take classes in your major, if that’s what you meant by becoming a part of the program.
