wondering about the in-state tuition?

i am an international student who was admitted into the CAS. i didn't apply for the scholarship as it was too late to know the deadline.
i wonder how can international students get the chance to receive the in-state tuition? it's quite impossible for me to have texas residency as i saw it required.....sigh...but are there any chances that my department will give me scholarships later so that i could get the in-state tuition?
hope that u can help me! thx a LOT!

I know that if you are hired as a teaching assistant or a research assistant it is possible to get in state tuition.

You have to be graduate school to be TA/RA in most cases.

Well it depends where you from. For example I’ve lived all my life in Mexico and there is even a special award for mexicans students that is called TAMS, just by applying to it and show how would it help your family if it is awarded to you, to actually get it. For TAMS you don’t need to be on your second year at UT.

If you are from any country on North, Central and South America including the Caribbean but Cuba, you can also apply for the Good Neighboor award, which is practically the same thing. On this one you must be a returning student.

That’s about it, there’s not much help if you aren’t from America as a continent.
