Wondering how this will all play out...

So I took the SAT in March and I am going to need to take it again. Although, I am wondering how it will work if I need to take ALL my subject tests and two more SATs when there are only three more available test dates and I'm applying to EA/ED schools.

For example, U. Chicago's EA deadline is November 1. Does this mean that when I apply that I have to put my ****ty SAT score down?? I have to take the subject tests in october to meet the requirements... PLZ HALP

I don't know about UChicago especially, but I know that my ED and EA colleges all accept the November SAT (however, my ED accepts it reluctantly) for early applicants. It's a school-by-school policy, so you should check the UChicago admissions page or contact their office.

My personal opinion, if you're going to be applying EA or ED, you're only going to have the time to take the October SAT. If University of Chicago's deadline is November 1st, you won't be able to take the November SAT because you'd be past the deadline. You may only have time to take just the October SAT, if this stands to be true. They're going to see your SAT scores anyway and remember they take your highest score for CR Writing and Math. And if you need to take a few subject tests, you may have to do that as well in October, and i don't even know if you can.

Good luck!

thanks :D

Test scores - Have official SAT Reasoning or ACT scores sent to the University of Chicago. (Chicago's SAT code is 1832; the ACT code is 1152.) All testing must be completed prior to the application deadline. SAT Subject Test scores are not required, but you are welcome to add them to your file. If you choose to submit SAT scores, you must sit for the new version of the SAT with the essay component. (If you choose to submit ACT scores, we do not require the optional essay component.)

My guess is "application deadline" means November 1 for EA and January 2nd for RN.

If you are planning on taking the SAT again in January, we will eventually see those scores, but we cannot guarantee that we will see them before we make a final decision.

Do not rush your scores. You must send official score reports from the testing agency, so you might as well send them now.

Are your SAT scores really that bad? Where are you getting the idea you have to do "two more SATs" ? Why are you planning to fail on the next test and thinking you'll definitely have to take it twice more? CCers are so strange...

And do your EAs require SAT II's? Because if not than maybe you could take the October SAT and the SAT II's in November.

And if all else fails, apply regular decision. You're only at a slight advantage if you apply ED and you're at a disadvantage if you apply EA so I don't think you'd lose anything.
