Wondering What Classes To Take My Senior Year (I Would Like To Major In Film Production)

I have taken AP world History in 10th grade and I received a score of a 3 on that exam. I didn’t prepare properly and didn’t really take the class to seriously etc. This year, my junior year I am taking Band, Honors Physics, Honors Statistics, Yearbook, AP English Language and AP U.S History. Next year i am not required to take a math or a science, by the end of this year I will have all of my required math and science credits. I was think of taking AP Art History and AP Photography in replacement of math and science as well as participating in an online math course at home after school my senior year (during the school year) as I am unable to dual enroll and don’t want to forget the math I have learned. I want to be a film editor and science has nothing to do with my major and their is basic math involved in film editing. Everyone is telling me that I should take a math, although I get A’s and mostly B’s math is not my best subject and AP Photo as well as AP Art history directly relate to my major. Any advice on what I should do would be helpful.

Do you have a list of colleges you plan on applying to? Look at admission requirements/profiles for them, what they base admissions on. You probably don’t need calculus for film school, but you might need it for your counselor to say you took the most demanding schedule your school offers to be admitted to top schools. Nothing wrong with AP Photography or Art History, or taking classes you have a passion for, but college admission people expect more than meeting the minimum requirements. Foreign Language? Some colleges will test your math skills, and place you in a remedial math class if you don’t test well. An online basic math class may not push you enough to prepare you for that. What is the last math class you took, before stats?

Yes I am looking to apply to UM and UF (My top 2). Both only require the minimum for math and science if you don’t plan on majoring in biology etc. I have taken 3 years of foreign language Spanish I, II and III. Also i wouldn’t be taking the most basic math class I would probably take an Algebra course because that is one of the first year classes offered at both UM and UF. The last math I took was algebra II (honors 1st quarter and regular the last 3 quarters).
