Wondering where to go!

Hey everyone, new here. Pretty interesting :)

I just want the opinion from other students, what schools should I consider for illustration?

Welcome WernerRomero! I think you will get a range of opinions on illustration programs, and you can also search the board to pull up all the old conversations. A lot of us have kids majoring in illustration, and most of our kids visited a lot of schools before choosing “the one” that fit them best! Is there anything on your wish list as far as location, size, campus, etc. that will narrow down your choices? There are a lot of great programs so you just need to find the one that is best for you. My kiddo is at Ringling and others here on the board have kids at schools in different areas of the country; I would imagine we all share enthusiasm for the choices our kids made. If you have no idea where you want to go, explore some of the school websites, look at student, faculty, and alumni work, facilities on campus, and read up on what types of opportunities are available to students and alumni. That’s a start! Good luck with your search…illustration is a great major!

MICA and UARTS have the top illustration programs.

RISD if you can afford it and make the cut.

Yeah, there are a hundred programs to choose from. So, the suggestions will mean something when you share your school requirements:i.e. urban/suburban, large city/smaller city, campus/no campus, etc., etc…

Thank u all for answering, yeah ringling is in my top 3  I just have to go check out the campus

I’ll check those other 2 :)

Thank u so much :)

That’s it? No more info as to what you’re looking for? Just about everyone on this board has a kid at a different school and can give you suggestions if you provide more info as colcon and mom4art suggested. Sounds like your mind is made up already. BTW, my D is at MCAD for illustration, and loves it. If you do a search on “MCAD” on this forum, you will find a post on her first semester experience.
