wondering which ivy schools are trying to beef up their classics department?

??????????????????

I guess you could always look them up and see how many students/faculty are in the classics department in each school

Columbia. 10chars

My D just graduated from Brown with a degree in Classics (Latin and Greek), and her experience there was phenomenal. Very small classes with all full professors, all of whom were true scholars. Even the beginning Greek classes were taught that way. What was interesting was that most concentrators had double concentrations in not-always-contiguous fields, such as neuroscience or physics. The course of study was very rigorous, but it was a wonderful program.

a jesuit priest who taught me latin and another who taught me greek in high school both received master's degrees in classics from harvard; they always spoke highly of their time there and constantly reccomended harvard classics to anyone interested.

k thanx guyz
