Because of graduation and vacation conflicts, I will not be able to attend the CalSO (Cal Student Orientation) function in June. Can someone tell me what I will be missing out on? Can I make it up some other way? Thanks

wait.. when is this cal student orientation function?? i don't think i've heard of it.. additionally, does anyone know when orientation for new students is? i know the semester starts on aug 23, and orientation should be a few weeks before..? hm..

CalSO is an optional events where you spend a night and two days there and get introduced to the school. You'll spend a lot of time hearing students talk about all the events going on, and how good campus life is.

Once again, it is OPTIONAL, but quite helpful.

Bubbles: It's optional, yes, but if you don't do it, you can't register for your classes.

If you can't go and you have signed your SIR, you need to go to the CalSO webpage and let them know you can't come so you can register for classes by Telebear on your own.

eiffelguy, does this mean that you may not be able to get some of your classes, if you register for them through Telebear. Any other down side?

You'll be registering later than most freshmen, but it's only for the first semester, so you shouldn't worry about it.

In the end, you'll be a-okay.

when is the acutual orientation though?

nvm i got em
