Woodrow Scholarship

Hi,
I have read the money matters and I was just wondering if there is anybody that has actually received the Woodrow scholarship that would be able to give me an estimate. My SATs are 10 below average and I’m not sure about the GPA because of the conversion that USC has. This would definitely be a huge boost over the sims scholarship.
Any input is great. Thanks.

My S has the Woodrow. He’s a sophomore so he got it before they added the Flinn. His stats were SAT 1800 / 1280, ACT 28, GPA 3.8 W (USC calculation). Granted that was 2 years ago so it’s probably a little higher averages now but gives you an idea anyway.

Woodrow is not quite in-state tuition but he really wanted to go to USC so I felt like his chance of success was greater if he went to the school he really wanted to go to, and just a little more than in-state was still manageable. Plus, our D has the Cooper so it evens it out.

I believe in USC recalculated WGPA it would be around a 4.15 if I did the math correctly

Did your son get an “at least” amount letter beforehand?

No, he didn’t

Also ik that they weight ap and honors higher but is “accelerated” the same as honors

I’m not sure about that … I think they need to be identified on the transcript as AP or Honors … maybe someone else has more info - else you can call Admissions and ask them. I’ve found them to be very helpful.
