woohoo!

I just found out that my quarter grade in AP spanish is a B. This is the first B I've ever gotten on my report card (I've had all As freshman, sophomore, junior year) and this is hopefully the only B senior year. How much will this hurt for colleges? (top colleges)... Would it have been better if I dropped this class and only had 3 AP classes (I currently have AP spanish, AP chemistry, AP Statistics, AP European history and world literature), or taken an honors spanish class and only had 2 APs?... Is this a big deal or am I worrying too much? (keeping in mind I'm applying to top schools)

heh it's fine... don't worry about it.

Drop it now! retreating is far better then anything but utter and complete victory. (don't worry about it, its your only B)

For goodness sakes --- get a life. It will probably help you, colleges will see you are not absolutely perfect!

Its definitely not because I'm not working hard... I'm working much harder than I was last year but still getting a B because of her weird grading system and our lack of any real quizzes/tests... (and also the fact it is much harder)

The thing is, for the past 3 years, I mostly got my worst grades first quarter because I needed to really understand what the teacher expects and I do better each quarter... It is a bummer that colleges ask for only the first semester in their decision (as that is when my grades will be lower). And I also hope that colleges realize that we have to do a million college applications at the same time and is a generally stressful period... (first semester)
