Wooooo I Got In!!!

Though CMC received 4178 applications for 300 freshman openings, they admitted 799 students, putting the acceptance rate at 19%. Last year, I believe they admitted 22% of 3593 students.

Starting to like CMC more and more, becoming my top choice over Ivies! Have to get to the campus asap.. only problem is i'm on the east coast.

Congrats to everyone who got in

hell yeah, nirvana19! a guy last year from my school turned down Columbia and Northwestern for Harvey Mudd. and we all know CMC is even sweeter than HMC, so the choice should be clear! ;D

I like to think of colleges as stock. Well, not really but here is how it could be viewed. The Ivies and other renowned schools (MIT, Stanford, Northwestern, etc) are like well-established companies. You can buy their stock and keep your money fairly safe due to the low investment risk. There is also a good chance of its value increasing. The other choice would be putting your money into CMC, a much newer company with a huge potential for growth. Its value has been steadily rising and soon, it will become one of these well-established companies, like the ones mentioned above. Both investment strategies are fine but personally, I prefer the latter.

my stats are in the stats profile... i'm pretty underqualified.. it's my leadership stuff that got me in i believe..

did everyone get a p.s. message too?

when they handwrite that stuff.. it makes me love the school more cuz they're so personal with everyone

yea i got it in the mail.. i live about 25 minutes away from CMC.. so no snail mail for me! lol

i got it before i could even check online..

i was so mad though cuz my mom opened it for me!!! :( but i'm happy i got in.. so i forgave her lol

actually, no! I was an ED-II candidate, but yeah, no handwritten P.S. message for me. what did yours say?

P.S.--Great job Jessica! You are a very good fit for CMC!

I got a handwritten note, too! It said:

"P.S.--Great job ******! You are a very good match for CMC - way to go!"

CMC is my first choice, but I won't qualify for financial aid and haven't received any merit aid (that I know of). I have also gotten into the honors program at UCLA, so it's going to be difficult for me to justify (to my parents) that CMC is worth twice as much.

I got a PS, too, which said: Great job on your essays! Which made me feel good about myself, haha. DAMMIT NOW I AM ALL CONFLICTED. And I've only heard back from two schools!

I live in Virginia, and I did not receive my package today.

Now I'm kinda worried...

Don't worry, I'm in WA and I still haven't gotten it.

CMC's Admission Committee has ten people on it. They told us that in the group information session.
