I checked that I would be applying for financial aid in the Common App even though I am not, by mistake. Will it hurt my chances; I just discovered this?

Thanks.

The question is do u PLAN on applying, so I am guessing it does not hurt?

Well, WashU is not fully needs blind, which means applying for it works against you. As I understand it the financial aid decision is still considered somewhat separately though, so I don't think the adcoms will know whether you actually followed through or not. Accordingly then, it benefits you to get in touch with somebody there and correct that error.

I emailed the financial aids office and told them, and the guy told me that it is fine and doesn't matter since they know many people change their minds as conditions change.

And I think that you're right about the financial aid office being seperate; they will not know whether I followed through or not, which is awesome!
