Wooster Alum Releases Feature Film

I saw that this movie, "Moon" was listed locally last weekend, but had no idea a Woo alum was involved. Sounds interesting, especially in light of his I.S. Project. I will definitely try to check it out in the next week or so. If any of you have seen it, I'd be interested to know what you thought about it.

Duncan Jones is David Bowie’s son. (aka Zowie Bowie)

Now that you mention it, I do remember reading something about David Bowie’s son at Wooster. I didn’t recall the name, however, until I just read your post. Wow, okay, very interesting.

DW and I made plans to go see the movie this week but I’ve been working too late. Hopefully we’ll catch it over the weekend.

Okay, finally saw ‘Moon’ this weekend. It’s a very good sci-fi movie and I recommend seeing it. I don’t want to say anything that’ll give away the plot, but it’s not at all predictable, and it kept me engaged through the whole thing. The script is good and Rockwell turns in an excellent performance, IMO. There are a few gaps here and there, and some moments where you need be able to suspend your disbelief a little (well, it is sci-fi after all), but it’s no less entertaining or thought provoking. There’s some drama in it, good humor, some surprises, and just enough twists to keep you wanting to see what would happen next. This movie is much much better than you’d expect from someone making their first debut at directing. It’s a low budget film that doesn’t feel that way at all. I was also surprised to note that Kevin Spacey is in it.

Overall, I give it 8 out of 10. Definitely recommend it to anyone thinking about seeing it. Do it soon though. I live in a major city and it’s only playing in one venue in our area. I don’t think it’s going to hang around in theaters much longer.

Thanks for the review! “Moon” is playing at our downtown “artsy” theater. Don’t know how long it’ll be here, but I’m going to try to get out to see it before it disappears into the ether.
