I prefer to go to a liberal arts school, but Purdue is a famous university…
undecided for a major but I want to major in Pre-law
I do not know a lot about these school but have to choose between them, any idea will be appreciate~
Fame often has little to do with the quality and breadth of education.
If your interest is more humanities and social sciences --as an interest in law would suggest – then there is no compelling reason to keep Purdue in the mix. Purdue is a premier engineering school but its non-engineering departments are not what it is known for – unless you feel like you really want the “big school” experience, I would think Purdue can come off the list.
Law school admissions are almost entirely dependent on undergrad gpa and LSAT score so you want to be in a college community where you can be challenged and be successful. Critical reading, thinking and writing are core skills for lawyers, so smaller classes, lots of support in developing writing etc. are all important. I would think that three smaller schools would all be good environments for that, though I am not familiar with Willamette specifically. Wooster seems like a neat community of students, welcoming, and of course, has the individual research project for all students. St L is a place we have researched but not yet visited, also seems like a supportive community with a lot of options for internships outside the area etc.
Good luck, you have some good options to choose from!
There is no such thing as a true pre-law curriculum. Law school admissions committees want to see that you can write and think, meaning, how well did you do in your Literature and Math classes. Also, the most critical thing about law admission is…THE LSAT!!!
You have an abundance of fine choices. Choose the college that fits you best.
