word count on common app

<p>how strictly is word count monitored on paper applications- can i get away with 700 words, or 600 words, as opposed to the 500 word limit? please help</p>

<p>that's a good 20% over what they say. I wouldn't go more than 10% MAX over the limit</p>

<p>ARe you really that good of a writer to take the risk? Before you decide to go over challenge yourself to writing it in 500 words and see if it is really so much worse.</p>
