<p>I would say 5-10 words; they want to see how creative you are, can express yourself, let off your personality, and still stay within their word limit.</p>
<p>Brown's word limit might be stricter than other schools'. They specifically say that you should not exceed the word limit while other schools never give such a direct statement like that.</p>
<p>I doubt that they are all that strict, it doesn't even give the word limits on the online app.</p>
<p>the word limit on the paper app is 500 words but the online app has a limit of 5000 characters- my essay is about 700 words but under 5000 characters so it should be fine i guess.</p>
