I was wondering if the Com App put some kind of max word limit so that if we go over it, they won’t let us submit it? Also if they had a word limit but let me submit it, would it put me at some kind of disadvantages to colleges because I couldn’t type within the limit?
Yes, of course there is. Make sure you read the common app essay instructions.
Just a few years ago there used to not be a word limit, just suggestions as to the length. However, that has all changed. The word limit is 650 words. If you are over that, you will be cut off in mid-stream. Don’t go over. Don’t ramble. Sometimes less is more.
Ok thank a lot!!! I have 950 words but that’s going to be hard to cut down
300 words is a lot to cut. Be concise and to the point and don’t ramble. Admissions reps read hundreds and hundreds of essays, so make sure it is something that engages them.
