WORD LIMITS!!! Freaking OUT. OPINIONS???

<p>How big of a deal you guys think it is going over the word limit.</p>

<p>I've gone slightly over for all of mine.</p>

<p>My main problem now is my common app essay, which is currently at 800 words. I know there's no common app essay limit, but I'm assuming they don't want novels. Is 800 too much?</p>

<p>I don't know it really matters that much, depends on the institution themselves. Some have a strict word limit. I applied to Mudd ED with both of my essays being over 900 words (about a page and a half) and got in, so no harm done there.</p>
