<p>none of my applications show word limits, but i have been under the impression that essays have to be 500-800 words. even my commonapp doesnt mention a word limit. so if they don't say it does that mean that I don't have a limit?</p>
<p>the commonapp essays are at least 250 words but should be no more than 500 words.
other supplement essays should indicate a word limit but perhaps you should check with their admissions office just to be sure.</p>
<p>my common app essay is about 800 words... too much?</p>
