Word of Advice for Tommorows Test

<p>Alright, as most of you know I got a 33 on my last ACT after a LOT of studying. However, I believe that the studying only played a small part of my sucsess. Because this forum has given me so much help and support here is what I believe the most important part of the ACT is. </p>

<p>GO INTO THE TEST LIKE YOUR A GOD!</p>

<p>This might sound absurd, but believe me if you have a positive attitude it works wonders. On my first two ACT's I was nervous and felt like if I didn't get a 33 my life was over. However, going into my third test, I was extremly calm and felt like I owned the test room..</p>

<p>Driving to the test site, I had my favorite radio station blasting and just felt like a Boss. I wore my UVA shirt (my lucky shirt btw) and was flaunting it. I acted like I was the king of the test room. And you know what, after each section I felt fantastic. If you act like your getting the score, you have a much better shot at getting it. Don't go out into the hallway during the break and hear how hard everyone thought the section was. Sit in the test room and mind your own business like you just got a 36...</p>

<p>Walk in with a tshirt of your favorite school and be proud. You've worked hard in school and this is just another lousy test. Own it.</p>

I was predicted to get a 19 act after my plan and now have a 33... It's up to you to do well.</p>

<p>I did this but to a much lower degree. When I combed my hair before leaving for the test, I thought about how well I’m doing in my math classes so math should not be bad. I also thought about how much I enjoy chemistry so I should dominate the science portion. And so on.</p>

<p>It really does help to picture yourself doing well.</p>

<p>I second the wearing a college t-shirt idea. Wearing a t-shirt from a top 25 school makes a statement to yourself and everyone else in the room that you’re a pro. I wore a Georgetown shirt to the ACTs today.</p>

<p>Today’s test may be over, but i have to say UVA got it spot on. I walked into the testing room feeling like a boss. At the end of each section i shrugged it off like it was no big deal, even if it was. You just feel so much better.</p>

<p>Thanks for the responses guys. I’m telling you, I honestly believe this is what helped my testing. I only had gotten a 32.5 on one practice test out of 20. However, walking into that test room, I was ready to do work.</p>
