Word Study?

If you've been offered work study how do you go about accepting it? Do they assign you a job, or can you apply to any on campus thing and ask for it? And how does work study work in general? Does the money you make go directly to the school? Or do you get the money and it's your responsibility to pay the school?

Thanks!

Being offered work study does not mean being offered a job. You are pretty much on your own in terms of work. The money you earn is deposited to a bank account, as it would normally, not directly into your student account. Needless to say, you won’t need to pay the school back, as you will already have paid the “work study” money when you deposited your tuition. I’d recommend looking for a job on the job board before you get to campus.

Check out the job board below:

^will more jobs be posted as school gets closer or is that about it?

I’ve noticed the job board doesn’t get updated that regularly, but I’m assuming that most employers don’t start scheduling until early August. By then, more things should be up. Also, don’t be afraid to ask around once you get on campus. Speak to your rector, sometimes they offer money for odd jobs, or talk to a lab instructor who might need help setting up.
