word?

okay, I'm a laid-back, chill girl, but seeing these posts make me 1) not so much anymore and 2) wish maybe I hadn't been for my first 2 years of high school? haha.

i've always just taken one honors course a year, world history freshmen year, and then LAII sophomore year... AP classes have never even been mentioned to me by my counselor or anyone, and I've only thought about taking AP Art History, because that's something I want to pursue (as far as my 16 year old mind thinks right now.) But, my guidance counselor even said to me, "well, you'll have 2 open slots senior year, so just take it then."

so this year, LAIII honors and frenchIV honors and no APs...

Um, see now... I've made the typical post that everyone else seems to make, haha... except for no AP classes.

So, basically my little question is... If I want to get into any kind of "good" school (not that that means everything or anything really), do I need a lot of APs (like prerequisite stylee)?

If so... woops.

If your school offers a lot of APs and your classmates take a lot of APs, then you should probably take a lot of APs too. If APs are rare at your school, it's ok if you take them rarely. It all depends.

Well the top schools want to see that you're challenging yourself.

I would recommend taking that AP Art History class if you're interested in it. You'll have a chance to see whether you're actually interested in pursuing that interest and it will make your tanscript look better [if you're worried about that, that's the only suggestion I can make]. I cannot say much about the difficulty of AP classes and how you will do because I do not know you, but I think that you should definitely take the AP and give that a try if that's something that you want to pursue.

Don't worry about college admissions too much. I was freaking out as if all hell had broken loose until yesterday and I'm just really relaxed today. I hope I remain this relaxed about it. That doesn't mean I'm not nervous. I'm just more calm about it.
