NYT Wordlebot (WordleBot: Your Daily, Personalized Wordle Score - The New York Times) has been making the game more interesting for me. It says the average for today’s puzzle is 4.2 guesses, and the Wordlebot took 4 guesses. The specific comments on my guesses were:
Guess 1: – “This is a great opening word. On average, someone who guesses ##### will cut the number of possible solutions to 60. Unfortunately for you, this time 111 solutions remained” (Skill = 96/100, Luck = 11/100)
Guess 2: – “#####? I’ll be honest. I had to look that one up. Nice. Before you guess, there were 111 possible solutions. Now there is only one. You should solve the puzzle on your next turn.” (Skill = 88/100, Luck = 91/100).

I’m really frustrated with myself about keeping the one letter I had in the wrong space between guesses 1 & 2. I was too concerned with being sure the other 4 letters were unused and didn’t look. Teach me to do things early in the morning (6:30am). But, I guess I can grudgingly say it helped me get it in three, so there’s that.

I feel like I should have been able to get it in 2, as I chose a real word for my second guess, but it may have been too high-falutin’ for the NY Times Wordle. But after the second guess, there were very few other words it could be.

This is the first time I’ve guessed in 2 in a long time. There was only 1 possible solution after the first guess. Wordlebot gave me the maximum 99 score (doesn’t give 100) in both skiil and luck.
