It’s been awhile since I last solved in 2. Wordlebot says my 2nd guess was the 5th highest skill word. I wasn’t the highest skilled player with my starting word in today’s puzzle, but I was the luckiest.

My lucky three today was more about where correctly guessed letters couldn’t go than where they could. Once I started rearranging them, the last four fell into place and the first became apparent.

According to WordleBot, I had the unluckiest possible outcome from my starting word. And I’m annoyed that my 3rd guess isn’t considered a potential choice…presumably because it’s not one of the 2400 words in the game. But it is a common word that 1st graders know, so I’m quite annoyed that it’s not a Wordle word.

They wouldn’t accept your answer if the word wasn’t on their list, so don’t be afraid to try it in the future!
Deleting my previous message, because I am a dingbat. The word I used on my guess is a possible Wordle solution. It just wasn’t a solution in this game because I repeated a letter in the wrong spot and didn’t realize it until I was doing a screenshot for the NY Times. Oy!

Wordlebot was added to the NYT paywall today, so I have no idea how good/bad my choices were. This makes the game much less enjoyable for me. If the paywall continues, I may not play as regularly.

Interesting about Wordlebot, which I’ve been thinking about trying but haven’t yet. I expect the Times to keep Wordle itself free for quite some time, if not indefinitely, because it has more than paid for itself in free promotion and subscription conversions. But it looks like they want to edge toward more direct monetization.
