Remember when the nuns confessed to Mother Superior at the end of The Sound of Music that they had sinned because they took the parts out of the Nazi’s car? This is me confessing that I sinned yesterday because I googled 5 letter words with no vowels and a y in order to solve in 3. Sometimes I cheat and I’m not ashamed to admit it

Speaking of confessions, this is the second time that I peeked at this thread before trying today’s puzzles. No spoilers or hints, but looking at other people’s distribution of boxes helped me with my own guess.

I credit Ryan Gosling with yesterday’s Wordle. As I scanned my news feed in recent days, I kept passing headlines about some interview he did explaining why he plays Ken in next year’s Barbie movie. So Barbie rose up in my subconsciousness. When I was young, I had Barbie, Ken, and ……Midge dolls. Ergo, doing the Wordle, Midge was (without my realization) bouncing around near the top.

I credit good old mentally moving around letters and testing the blank with getting today’s word.

Set my almost 91-yr old father-in-law up on wordle today. He likes crossword puzzles, and at first this confused him. but - pinned the website to his opening page on his laptop, showed him how it works, explained the colors, and he smiled, and seemed excited. we all did the word together; he figured the word out shortly. I like it as it changes every day, is sometimes quick, and always new. so - here’s to a new daily thought-hobby for him! (and another plus for him. no ads, no registration. )

This was pretty abysmal considering my start. After the first word I had an idea in my mind (my 2nd guess), and kept trying to make Wordle fit the letters in my mind, rather than changing my idea (i.e. my atrocious third guess where I even used a wrong letter from the preceding word!).
